How to Advertise a New Beauty Salon

If you just opened your first salon, you probably want to know how to advertise a new beauty salon so that you can get some customers in the door. After all, your business loans have to be paid. The more people you can attract, the easier it will be to get your feet on the ground and to start raking in profits.

Creating a Strong Brand

The first thing that you need to do is to brand your company. Pick out the colors that you want to use, the logo, the fonts for your sign, and a general company identity that you want to create. For example, if you want your focus to be on excellent customer service, you should be dedicated to that from the first day, and your promotional materials should reflect it. If, on the other hand, you want to be dedicated to speed or low prices, you should strongly represent that as well.

Advertising via Social Media

Now that you have an identity and a brand, you need to start getting the word out there. Social media is a great way to do it for two reasons. First, it gives you access to hundreds and perhaps thousands of potential clients. The majority of people use social media, so it can be far more effective than newspaper or magazine ads. The second benefit of social media is that people can communicate with you. They can ask questions about the products that you use, the hours that you are open, and things of this nature. They will really like this availability, which can increase their loyalty to your salon.

Targeting the Right Audience

When you are doing this, you need to make sure that you target people who may be interested in your services. This is especially true if you use a Pay Per Click advertising campaign to draw people to your social media site. You need to get your ads onto sites where people who want to come to a salon will be. Random advertising can work, but targeted ads have shown to have a far higher success rate.

Advertising in Local Hotspots

If you are interested in physical advertising and not just Internet advertising, you can identify neighborhood hotspots where you are allowed to put up ads. For example, in many small towns, local grocery stores will have bulletin boards in the front entryway. You can put up a flyer to let people know that your salon is open and to tell them exactly what you have to offer. This store will get a lot of traffic, so it can be better than billboards or other advertisements that people tend to ignore.

Work with Other Companies

Another option is to advertise directly inside of another local company, in exchange for letting them advertise at your business. For example, you could set up a table in the front of the building where people can leave their business cards and brochures. Since this is where your clients are going to be waiting anyway, this is great exposure for those companies. In turn, they can give you a similar space. You can both help each other out to increase public awareness. This is best done in places that either get a lot of traffic or offer similar, though not identical, services.

Advertising a new salon is vital for anyone who wants to increase his or her customer base. Once you get new customers, you should strive to satisfy them by offering superior services.
