Avoid Brushing Wet

 

 

Your first reaction when getting out of the shower is often to brush your hair, getting through all the knots and tangles. Resist this urge, as wet hair when combed out will break easier. This will lead to split ends and thinning hair faster than almost any other similar bad habit. Instead wait longer for your hair to at least partially dry before combing it out. In addition to this, never use a brush on your hair while it is wet at all. Instead it will be better to comb through with a wide toothed comb, causing less damage than otherwise.

While you don’t need to buy the most expensive shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray on the market, spending a little extra will be beneficial to your hair. The process behind styling your hair may be doing more damage than you think. Avoid styles that require your hair to be slicked back tight and secured, instead choosing for looser styles. In addition to this, excessive use of heat tools such as curling irons, straighteners, and blow dryers will be damaging to the hair. Avoid using heat as much as possible, instead choosing styles that require less of this treatment. Although you may want body in your hair, be careful about teasing it. This can cause breakage, making your hair look thinner. Instead find other ways to add volume to your hair.

Eating healthy has an impact on our overall health, including our hair. By eating the foods that will bring the nutritional value your body needs, your hair will be healthier, preventing many common problems. This is one of the most common solutions to preventing hair loss, and will have an all around positive influence. Eat more fruits, vegetables, and proteins to keep your hair healthy.
