The 3 Must-Have Beauty Products to Keep in Your Makeup Bag

Whether you’re a makeup maven or a complete novice in the beauty world, a few pro tips and inspiration never hurt anybody, especially when it comes to eliminating clutter and streamlining your routine.

So what are the items that you really should have in your beauty bag? We wanted to know, too. Check out our list of the must-have items you should have with you at ALL times.

1. Mascara

Bar none, mascara is the ultimate makeup tool. Think about it, you’re running late for a meeting and don’t have time to get ready for the day: what is the one product that you reach for? MASCARA!

It brightens your eyes by adding some definition, and it is arguably the one thing that you (and likely others) notice if you aren’t wearing it.

Though there is something to be said for the pricier name-brand products like MAC, Dior, Urban Decay, but we know that  the kind of mascara that you use is not as important as the way you apply it and how much you apply at a time.

Mascara tops almost every listicle and breakdown of must-have or definitely-need posts from beauty bloggers and professionals, make sure to keep some stocked.

2. S. P. F… (or products containing SPF)

You’re probably tired of hearing it (and reading it) but skin protection is SO important, and not just in the Summer. Each day, your face, arms, and hands are exposed to sunlight and you’ll be kicking yourself later if you don’t take the proper precautions now.

Just because you’re not on the beach or at the lake doesn’t mean that you’re not being exposed to powerful and harmful UV rays.

Whether you keep a light sunscreen in your bag to apply under your makeup, or opt for a product with SPF in the formula, you need to protect your skin everyday.

Would you take a pan out of the oven without an oven mitt? Of course not! So why would expose the skin to damaging light rays without something to help protect it?

3. Concealer

Again, this item graces the top of many lists to keep in your makeup bag. You can apply it prior to putting on foundation, and depending on your skin type, the coverage you need you may be able to get away with only wearing concealer.

What makes concealer so awesome you ask? It’s opaque and works incredibly well to help conceal dark spots, blemishes, and pretty much anything else that you could want to cover up.

The dark circles under your eyes that make you look tired and tack several years onto your appearance can usually be fixed with the thoughtful application of some quality concealer.
