Financial Aid

Your education is important – even when finances are tight. That’s why Avalon School of Cosmetology has employees responsible for giving you the support you need to help you develop a financial plan that will help you achieve your goals!

We’ll start by working with you on creating a realistic tuition budget. And we make financial aid available to those who qualify. If you do qualify, you can apply for grants, scholarships, loans and more!

To apply for financial aid, just follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are eligible for financial aid
    • Generally speaking, you will be eligible if you:
      • Are enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program
      • Are a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
      • Demonstrate financial need
      • Do not owe a refund on any state or federal educational grant, and are not in default on a student loan
      • Have a Social Security number
      • Have a high school diploma or GED
      • Have complied with U.S. Selective Service registration requirements
      • Sign required certification forms
      • Have never been convicted of a drug offense
      • Make satisfactory academic progress toward completing your program of study
  2. Complete the enrollment agreement
    • The first step to determining the financial aid you may qualify for is to meet with an admissions representative and enroll in Avalon School of Cosmetology.
  3. Meet with a financial aid advisor
    • Before meeting with a financial aid advisor, you’ll be given a financial aid packet, which you should complete prior to this meeting. This packet contains the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The federal government uses this to determine the amount of aid you will receive.

For almost all students, financial assistance is available through a variety of federal education grants and loans. As a fully accredited school, we are able to assist students with understanding and applying for the funding needed. The majority of students have their tuition completely covered through these federal funds. Credit checks are not required for student loans. We are always willing to work out payment plans for those who do not wish to or are not eligible to apply for federal funds.
