You may want to consider becoming a medical esthetician if you are interested in working in the health care field. Medical estheticians can hold jobs in dermatologist’s offices, clinics and specialized medical practices. The job duties of a medical esthetician can vary. A medical esthetician who works in a burn unit in a hospital may provide treatments that help cover up the scars. Medical estheticians who work in dermatology offices may perform treatments that restore a patient’s skin.

Makeup Artist a Popular Esthetician Job

Makeup artists are professionals who apply cosmetics. There is no formal training needed to become an esthetician, but if you have an esthetician license, then your chances of finding a job will be greater. Makeup artists can hold jobs in malls and beauty salons. They can even work for film and television companies. Additionally, there are some makeup artists who open up their business.

Spa/Salon Estheticians

Many estheticians hold jobs in spas or salons. If you choose to work in a spa or salon, then you will most likely spend your days performing facials, massages and body treatments. You can also educate your clients on things that they can do at home to care for their skin. In order to succeed as a spa or salon esthetician, you will have to establish a regular clientele.

Beauty advisor is another great career choice if you are interested in working in a mall or a department store. When someone has a question about the right skin care product to use, they will go to the beauty advisor for assistance. Beauty advisors are considered sales people. Therefore, great business skills will increase your chances of succeeding as a beauty advisor.
