Top 5 Natural Skin Care Tips For African American Women

Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to spend a-lot of money to get great looking skin. There are a number of ways that you can keep your skin looking good without spending a fortune.

Natural Skin Care Tips For African American Women

Below are 5 natural skin care tips for African American women:

Use Sunscreen

Many African American Women feel that wearing sunscreen is unnecessary. African American women have more melanin, and melanin offers protection against the harmful ultraviolet rays. However, African Americans can still get sunburned, and they can also develop skin cancer. That is why it is important for you to make sure that you wear sunscreen when they go out in the sun.

Keep in mind that excessive sun exposure can speed up the aging process. A good sunscreen has a SPF, or sun protection factor, of at least 15.

Exercising is one of the best things that you can do for your skin and entire body. It helps increase blood circulation, which will give your skin a natural glow. You should try to perform at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. Jogging, walking, dancing and cycling are just a few of the many exercises that you can perform. Make sure that you select activities that you enjoy because you will be more likely to your program.

Drink Lots Of Water

Water helps keep your skin hydrated. That is why you should try to drink between eight and 10 glasses of water per day. You should also limit your intake of alcohol and caffeinated beverages.

Keep Your Skin Moisturized

Moisturizing your skin is a must. There are a variety of creams and lotions available on the market today, so you are sure to find one that is right for your skin type. However, you want to make sure that you avoid using moisturizers that contain harsh ingredients. Those types of moisturizers have a tendency to do more harm than good.

Exfoliation is a process that removes dead skin cells. When you remove dead skin cells, you encourage your skin to regenerate new ones. You should exfoliate once or twice a week. However, you should not exfoliate more than twice a week because that will dry out your skin.

Exercising, using sunscreen and drinking lots of water are some of the keys to keeping your skin healthy. You also want to make sure that you keep your skin moisturized and exfoliate
once a week.
