Curling Iron vs. Hot Rollers

Finding the easiest and most effective way to curl your hair is important, but can be difficult. Because everyone has different type of hair, the results may be varied. Take a look at these facts about these two different curling products and determine which will work better for you.

Hot Rollers

Many people choose hot rollers because they seem like the faster option. Instead of spending time on each section of hair, you can roll them all up at once, do your makeup, and be on your way. These will take about the same amount of time or a little longer than a curling iron to heat up. Similar to the curling iron, once you get the hang of it, hot rollers are actually fairly easy to use.

The main problem that comes from this styling tool is that the curl might not hold or may not give the results that you were expecting. Use styling products that will help you hold the curl such as mousse and hairspray. Rather than washing your hair in the morning, do so at night. It is more difficult for the curl to stay when your hair is too clean.

Curling Iron

 

Unlike hot rollers, the curling iron allows you to choose from a variety of different curls. You can make the look your own by using different sizes, styles, or heat levels with your curling irons. With hot rollers, you will only really have one choice of curl. The best thing about the curling iron is how many ways you can use it. You can have a completely different look from one day to the next using the same curling iron. The same is not true for hot rollers.

While you are curling your hair with a curling iron, there isn’t really any room to do anything else in the meantime. Because of this, using a curling iron can be more time consuming, depending on what you are trying to accomplish. It could be anywhere from five minutes if you are just adding a few curls, or half an hour for some to curl.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to curling irons and hot rollers. Take a look at what you are trying to accomplish with the curl in your hair, and determine which would be the best tool. It is important to use the right products in your hair to keep the curl lasting as long as possible.
