2017 MAC Makeup Trends

MAC model

As you know, the world of beauty is always evolving and trends come and go on the daily. Fortunately, there are some industry leaders that we can always turn to when searching for the trendiest looks and inspiration. It’s no secret that MAC Cosmetics is one of those leaders. They always seem to be one step ahead of the game and they make sure to lead the way from trend to trend. If MAC is doing it, you should do it too. To make your life easier, we have searched high and low through MAC’s content to find the looks that we think will be trending in 2017.

On Wednesdays EVERYDAY We Wear Pink

MAC is not messing around with their shades of pink. From lipstick to eyeshadow and blush, it’s all about the pink! Nothing says, “Hello 2017,” quite like a neon eye and matching lip. Contrary to popular belief, Wednesday is not the only day you should wear pink.

Glitter Is Everything

Can one ever really have too much glitter? We say, no! Life is just too short to have boring makeup. It is a great way to spice up any look for any occasion. Going on a date? Glitter. Going golfing? Glitter. Doing yard work? Glitter. Broke up with your boyfriend? Extra glitter. We think MAC is going to inspire a lot of people into shining their way through 2017.

Less is More

Now, MAC isn’t always known for their subtlety. More often than not, we see them go all out and over the top with their featured looks. This year though, we see subtlety on the horizon and it’s looking beautiful. Gather your nudes, you’re going to need them!

Lips That Speak For Themselves

Making a statement is everything. Doing so with only your lips? Now, that is bold. MAC is not afraid to let their lip art do the talking. We have a hunch that we are going to be seeing a lot of loud lips in 2017!

Unblended Single Shadows

We are well aware that this predicted trend breaks the quintessential rule of makeup, which is to always blend! Hear us out though, this look really allows one to focus more on the beauty of the shadow itself and less on the meticulous ways it’s being used or, in most cases, misused. Not to mention the time that will be saved by not having to blend! That alone is enough to make makeup mavens adopt this technique for 2017.

Extravagant Eyeliner

The infamous winged eyeliner is getting a run for its money. It’s going to have to step up its game if it wants to compete with these new eye lining techniques. Colored liner, liner art, inner eye wings: it is time to think outside the box! These looks are definitely for the daring spirit but it’s only a matter of time before people will follow trend.

50 Shades of Grey

The movie is old news but many shades of grey have dauntlessly made their way into the world of beauty. With 2016 being the year of grey hair, it’s only fair that the color takes over makeup in 2017. It happens to be such a neutral color that it looks wonderful on nearly anyone. We never thought we would say this but, 2017 is looking awfully grey and we are over the moon about it.

Perfectly Kept Unkept Eyebrows

Amongst many other things, 2016 will be remembered as the year of eyebrows. It’s 2017 now, and we can imagine that MUAs are exhausted when it comes to perfect brows. Well, we have good news. MAC embraces natural looking brows on a regular basis, so there is no need to spend hours on end making them flawless. MUAs won’t know what to do with all the extra time that isn’t being wasted on perfect brows.
