Our school was founded in Mesa, Arizona, in 1967. We were first accredited in 1972 by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS), the same accreditor that reviews our programs for educational quality today.
In 1993, the school was incorporated as Joy Etc., Ltd. In 2008, it was purchased by EA Education, Inc., and renamed to Avalon School of Cosmetology in 2009 and finally become Avalon Institute in 2021.
